The Perkiomen School is a coeducational college preparatory boarding and day school located in the Greater Philadelphia area; serving grades six through twelve and offers a year of postgraduate study.
LEARNING CENTER COORDINATOR: Perkiomen School seeks an academic administrator to run the school’s Learning Center. This program moves student with learning issues, skills gaps, executive function issues, and anxiety disorders through the process of gaining coping skills, remediating weak areas, and learning self-advocacy skills. The program enrolls students who have been formally identified as needing academic support.
The School is looking for an energetic and organized coordinator who will guide students and department faculty members. The coordinator is responsible for creating academic plans including accommodations and modification plans for each student. The coordinator is the driving force in weekly feedback to students, parents, and teachers. The coordinator should be proficient not only in the pedagogy of special education but also in data analysis of students, their progress, and their college readiness. This would include a good understanding of standardized assessments, the creation of academic plans, and the ability to provide feedback both formally and informally. The coordinator is responsible for tracking and applying for standardized testing accommodations for all learning disabled students.
This coordinator reports to the Assistant Headmaster for Academic Affairs and holds a seat on the Department Chairs Committee. Candidates should have at least five years of experience and hold an advanced degree in Special Education or its equivalent.
