Angel Lopez '15 pre-draft was ranked in the top 25 collegiate catchers in America. He was being pursued by several MLB teams. On draft day, Cleveland drafted Lopez in the 13th round.

Eric Fanning '12 spent this week taking his game to the next level. Fanning worked out with both the Celtics and the Nets this week. While at Perk, Fanning was part of a dynamic squad that won the league championship.

Perkiomen's baseball standout, Levi Stoudt '16 led Perk's baseball pitching staff for his four years. This fall he enrolled at Lehigh University and continued to lead on the mound in the Patriot League. Recently, he earned the honor of Freshman All-American.

As a golfer at Perkiomen, Minuette Laessig '16 held the number one position for both her junior and senior year. In the fall of her junior year, she won the boys' state tournament. Coach Dougherty said "Min is smart in the classroom, but she is also very smart on the golf course. Her wise style of play outwits her opponents and wins matches. The wind or tricky holes are no match for Min's smart style of play."

On Sunday evening, twelve students were inducted into the prestigious Cum Laude Society. In 2010, The Perkiomen School was granted a membership charter for the Cum Laude Society. This honor is due to the hard work and scholarly achievement of our students, and the teachers who help them grow into powerful learners.

Wallace Reid, class of 1909, was a prolific silent film star, acting in films such as Birth of a Nation (1915), The Roaring Road (1919), and Intolerance (1916). In school, Reid was an athlete, a musician, and an artist. He created artwork for the first publication of The Griffin. Annually, the most outstanding artists in the Perkiomen community are honored at the awards ceremony named after Wall Reid, The Reid Awards.
