TRI-COUNTY LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
The 2014 baseball team played an ambitious schedule and did an excellent job of meeting the challenge; finishing the season with a 20-5 record. They played their way into the PA Independent Schools State Championship before losing to Malvern Prep. They also beat Barrack Academy in the Tri-County League championship game which was the 20th consecutive league championship. Last year's team graduated just two seniors, Tets Hasimoto and Joey Pena. Joey was the team MVP and has moved on to Division II Thomas Aquinas College in New York.
In the fall, the team played in the Pride of the Diamond league, which allows free substitution during the regular season. This allows for the opportunity to see the players in different positions which helps to develop much needed flexibility with the players. The fall also introduces the new p alyers to our up-tempo style of ball. For the third consecutive year, the team was able to win the playoff championship. They appear to have more depth, especially on the mound, than in previous years. We have put together another difficult schedule for the spring and are looking forward to meeting that challenge.
Last year's success is now history and this year's team must set their own goals. Winning is the byproduct of the things you do. Will you give yourself the best chance to play well? Will we be willing to go through the process, develop routines, and make the effort it will take to make this season successful?
