TRI-COUNTY LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
The 2015 Perkiomen baseball team replicated the highly successful 2014 team. Both teams finished their respective seasons with 20-5 records, giving the 2015 seniors a great 40-10 records over their last two seasons. For the second year in a row, Perk Baseball was able to paly their way into the PAISAA's championship game before losing a hard fought game to Malvern. Again, for the second year in a row, the team beat Barrack to win the Tri-County League championship. Perkiomen has now won 21 consecutive league championships between their years in the Keystone conference and the Tri-County league.
The 2016 team will have to overcome the loss of six senior starters who have all moved on to play college baseball. Alex Soriano - Ursinus College, Charlie Barebo - Rowan University, Tom Aaron - University of the Sciences, Javi Quinones - Hiram College, Naquan Holden and Angel Lopez - Northampton Community College.
In the fall, the team had 25 players play in the fall ball program. They played the TSE Rising Stars league which allowed free subsititution during the regular season which permitted the opportunity to play everyone. The fall provides the chance to see where the new players fit in and whethe players need to move to other positions. For the fourth year, the team won the tournament championship with Levi Stoudt '16 and Josh Cruz '17 combining on a no-hitter against Upper Perk.
Many of this year's players have been a part of the team's drive to the state championship game the past two years. One of their goals is to reach the finals again, but change the end result. It will not be easy as the top teams are now aware of Perkiomen and look forward to knocking us off. To be successful, we must understand the process starts with a clean slate and the need to work that much harder to attain our goals.
