Parents Association

The Perk Parents Association provides a great meeting place for new parents to connect with returning parents. Unless otherwise specified, our meetings are held in the conference room in Kriebel Hall at 7:00 pm on the third Tuesday of each month.  Special meetings may be called as needed to handle a special request for funds or plan events such as the annual auction

Membership:
Any parent who has children attending Perkiomen School is invited to attend our meetings and join the Parents Association.  Annual dues are $40 and are typically billed as a voluntary contribution during the summer. If you have any questions or would like to become involved please contact one of the Parents Association officers. 

Fundraising events
Dues are a significant portion of our annual revenues and form our annual “seed” money with which to conduct the Parents’ Reception, Registration Day events, and the annual auction.

Basket/ Live Auction – Family Day
Another significant source of revenue for the Parents Association is the Annual Basket and Live Auction which is held on Family Day.  Parents are solicited for contributions of items, services, or cash that is used to purchase items for auction.  The local business community has also been invaluable in supporting our auction effort with contributions of overnight stays, event tickets and locally produced wares.

Service Events
Blazer and Uniform Sale – The Parents Association collects donated blazers, pants and polo shirts, cleans and sells them during the few days before and during registration.  Price is $20 without a school patch and $25 with a patch.  

Senior Awards – Each year, the Parents Association selects a graduating girl and boy who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in service to Perkiomen School. 
Vespers Decoration – Members of the Parents Association “surprise” students returning from their Thanksgiving break with a chapel full of holiday decorations.   
Holiday Baking – Prior to Christmas vacation, the Parents Association honors the faculty and staff with holiday baked goods. Donations may be delivered to Kriebel Hall Conference room mid December.

Student Events
Jr. /Sr. Prom – The Parents Association is a major contributor to the Jr. /Sr. Prom.  This additional funding is requested by the Jr. Class Prom Committee each year and has helped keep the cost of this elegant event within reach of all Perkiomen students.
Palintir – The school’s literary magazine has grown in quality over the years. The Parents Association makes a contribution to help defray the cost of publication. 
Middle & Upper School Dances – Many of the dances receive a significant portion of their funding from the Parents Association.  These events help form a bond and trust between the students that is important for their social growth.

 

Recent Purchases
Educational:
Art Department Stools – Twenty new stools were purchased that make it easy to configure the classroom as needed.
Commercial quality laminator- This high caliber machine ensures that students’ work can be displayed and preserved.  The lamination also adds a degree of professionalism.
Dry Mount Machine to mount student artwork.
Sports:
Bleachers for the main gymnasium.
Soccer/Lacrosse Scoreboard - This is located on the field next to the gym.
Exercise equipment for the gym
Bleachers for Soccer/Lacrosse and softball
Miscellaneous:
Digital Camera for use throughout the school to record events and classes.
Picnic Benches – We’ve recently purchased new picnic tables with benches outside of Carl’s Corner.  This makes the patio an inviting place for students to gather during their breaks.
