Perkiomen School welcomes Leiri Meléndez as Head Volleyball Coach

Perkiomen School announced the hiring of Leiri Meléndez as Head Volleyball Coach for the 2021-2022 school year.

Coach Meléndez attended Savannah State University, and as a member of their Division I volleyball team, she was the first college player to be recognized for the conference as Rookie of the Week. She won the Coaches Award in 2017 and was named to the Athletic Academic Honor Roll from 2017-2019.

Meléndez leads Cumpliendo Sueños Volleyball, where she assists young athletes who have a goal of attending school in the United States.  Her experience with the recruiting process and her passion for connecting with young people will be an asset to our students as they work to reach their athletic and academic goals.

Melendez has always emphasized aiming high. Now she will bring her ambitious attitude to Perkiomen, where she hopes to be a real difference-maker for her players in all facets of their lives.

“Most importantly for me is to see the girls happy and be great women in whatever they do,” Melendez says. “Every dream that they have, I will help them achieve it.”
