Diversity & Inclusion @ Boarding School
Welcome to DIBS!
Perkiomen School is thrilled to announce the first annual Diversity & Inclusion @ Boarding School Conference on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10 am to 2 pm EDT.
DIBS offers separate experiences for high school students and faculty aimed at the unique challenges facing boarding schools. Our mission is to help schools and attendants:
- Foster an understanding and appreciation of diversity, inclusion, and justice.
- Build a deeper sense of community by bridging day and boarding student experiences, engaging students across social and national lines.
- Develop a deeper sense of cultural appreciation and cultural humility.
- Cultivate a sense of empowerment to confront complex issues on and off campuses.
This year, our conference will be held virtually via Zoom. Cost per participant is $15. Register HERE.

Keynote Speaker: Rosetta Lee
Rosetta Lee has been a diversity speaker and trainer on a variety of topics, presenting at numerous conferences and nonprofit organizations such as the White Privilege Conference, Junior League, and City Year. She has also worked with over 250 K-12 public and independent schools throughout the country, as well as a number of colleges and universities. She has served several years on the faculty of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Diversity Leadership Institute, as well as NAIS' diversity think-tank cadre, Call to Action.
Rosetta’s focus on building inclusive communities falls directly in line with the goals of DIBS. In an environment like a boarding school, especially one with a diverse domestic and international population, developing cultural humility is absolutely essential – a concept which is key to Rosetta’s work. She is a phenomenal speaker - engaging, funny, and with a talent for making difficult concepts relatable to anyone. We are thrilled to have her as our inaugural keynote speaker.
