Letter from the Head of School March 31, 2020 Dear Perkiomen Community, On Monday, March 30, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf revised his "Stay-at-Home" orders, following the guidelines of the White House, and extending them until April 30. He also announced that all Pennsylvania schools are to remain closed until further notice. From the very start of the spread of this virus, Perkiomen School has made decisions to keep our community safe and to continue delivering quality education. We have taken a measured and thoughtful approach to decision-making about the impact of the situation on our entire community. That charge will not change. We planned to re-evaluate the possibility of on-campus classroom teaching at the mid-term, April 17. Based on direction set by the White House and the Governor, we will delay that decision until April 30. Virtual Perkiomen got off to an excellent start last Monday, and our faculty and administration work every day to improve the student's learning experience on this new platform. This Monday, more than 350 students and faculty gathered together for a traditional (now virtual) Morning Meeting, complete with announcements, birthday wishes, and the quote of the day. Even across the world, connected by technology, the essence of Perkiomen remains. I ask for your continued patience and your support as we plan our next steps. These last few weeks the Perkiomen School community has come together in ways that inspire and encourage me – but that's no surprise. After all, it is in our nature to be unafraid to shift gears, try another way, look from a different angle, think outside the box. I hope each of you will draw strength and resilience from the Perkiomen community as we look out for each other and face this difficult time together. I will continue to communicate any significant decisions or changes as they arise. Our next email update to the community is planned for Friday, April 10, unless an earlier message is warranted.
