Dear Perkiomen Community,
The spring is normally filled with fun and festive events to celebrate the many unique and inspiring talents in our student body. The Fine and Performing Arts Department shares our deep regrets that we will not be able to have any in-person closure to our year in the arts, but we do look forward to the Reid Awards and Baccalaureate senior performances where we will see and hear your talents once again!
The faculty in the Fine and Performing Arts Department want to reiterate how impressed we have been with our students' readjustment to a virtual fine arts classroom. Our students have accepted this challenge with grace and have not let this trying time diminish their creative and inventive spirit.
The faculty strongly encourages everyone to continue to create their own art, whether that is by drawing your surroundings, making simple doodles in a sketchbook, writing songs, creating short monologues, or exploring the world of art around you by taking advantage of online resources such virtual tours at world-renowned museums. Continuing to be active in the arts will not only hone your skills, but will hopefully bring personal satisfaction. The arts provide an amazing channel to communicate with others and to express yourselves during these difficult times, and the Perkiomen community has already been touched by your artistic deliveries.
Students, your teachers sincerely hope you will continue to use your talents to reach out to classmates and loved ones. We are so proud of your accomplishments throughout this year and we are thrilled with your many achievements. You have put countless hours into your productions and assignments, and your teachers value your extraordinary efforts. We recognize it is sad for all of us that we cannot share in person the festivities you have been looking forward to, but with that in mind, we urge you to be proud of everything you have done this year and to take joy in the conclusion of a challenging and successful school year in the arts. Perkiomen hopes you will continue to stay connected to our community by sharing your artistic creations. We genuinely congratulate you for all your accomplishments, and for your perseverance and fortitude in these unprecedented times.
Sincerely,
Louisy Roest
